Apple Chief Executive Officer Tim Cook has finally unveiled the next iPhones: iPhone 6, and iPhone 6 Plus. They’re larger, slimmer, costlier, rich featured, boast more storage, and are more powerful.
The specifications of iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 plus seeing the growing consumer demand for larger screen, Apple too upped the screen sizes of its iPhones. The iPhone 6 sports 4.7-inch with screen resolution of 1334 x 750, while the iPhone 6 Plus sports full HD — 1,920×1,080 pixels resolution. “They’re ‘Retina HD’ displays” Schiller said.
The iPhone 6 has 38 percent pixel density, while the iPhone 6 Plus has as many as 185% more pixels. On the connectivity front, the iPhone 6 supports 20 LTE bands, with speed going up to 150 Mbps. Apple is also bringing support for VoLTE (Voice over LTE), which will enhance the quality of the calls. ”We’re working with a lot of carriers around the world.”
Apple is also introducing a slew of new features. A feature called “Reachability” will allow users to double-tap on the home button to bring the display down so that you can reach the top buttons.
As previously learned, the iPhone 6 Plus is capable of running apps in landscape mode. A feature which will allow users to have 2 panes in several apps, good for productivity enthusiasts.
Near-field-communication, or NFC has been available on Android and Windows Phones for quite some time now, and today, the new iPhone’s support it too. The technology has myriad of applications, Apple is using it to make wireless payments.
The megapixel count hasn’t gone up as the iPhone 6 handsets still come with 8-megapixel camera. However, the camera has become powerful. Much like HTC, Apple has emphasized on the details of the picture. The new 8-megapixel camera comes with a f/2.2 aperture and 1.5µ pixels. The new camera makes it easier to take HDR pictures, and makes the shooting process faster.
